Treasury and Finance Minister Şimşek evaluated the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey's (CBRT) July "Sectoral Inflation Expectations" data.
Şimşek noted an improvement in household and real sector inflation expectations, saying, "Despite uncertainties caused by geopolitical developments, households' 12-month ahead annual inflation expectations fell by a total of 6.6 points in the last three months, while the real sector's expectations dropped by 1.2 points."
Emphasizing that maintaining financial stability is critically important in the current conjuncture of increasing global uncertainties, Şimşek stated, "A permanent increase in our competitiveness will be achieved through productivity, technology-based production, and macroeconomic stability. We are setting our policies in the fight against inflation with an eye on lasting gains. The ultimate goal of our policies is to ensure sustainable growth and a permanent increase in welfare through high value-added production."
