A car overturned into an irrigation canal in the rural area of Tepealtı neighborhood along the Mardin-Şırnak highway. Four children died at the scene, while two critically injured women died at Nusaybin State Hospital, where they were taken for treatment.

Six die, including four children, after car overturns into irrigation canal in Mardin

A car with license plate 47 ADZ 606 overturned into an irrigation canal in the rural Tepealtı neighborhood area along the Mardin-Şırnak highway. The driver was not identified.

Following the notification, 112 emergency medical services, firefighters and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene.

Four children die in crash

Mehmet Şirin, 11, Lavin, 9, Zana, 5, and Mert Öztürk, 5, who were in the car, died at the scene.

Fikriye, 30, and Gülcan Öztürk, 28, who were critically injured, were taken to Nusaybin State Hospital by medical teams. The two women died despite medical treatment at the hospital.
