New information has emerged in the investigation into university student Gülistan Doku, who disappeared in Dêrsim on January 5, 2020, and has not been heard from since. The statement given by her detained ex-boyfriend Zeinal Abarakov to the prosecutor's office has been added to the case file.
According to a report by Hüseyin Kaçar from Sabah newspaper, Abarakov stated that he met Gülistan Doku a day before her disappearance and later learned that instead of going to the dormitory at night, she stayed at her teacher's house.
Regarding the message "I'm scared" that Doku sent him, Abarakov responded, "From the message 'I'm scared' that Gülistan sent me, I understood that she was stuck outside and couldn't make it to the dormitory. The next day, I learned that she was at her teacher's house when she was sending messages." He also addressed the phrase "Our time is over" in Doku's messages, saying, "I understood that it meant our relationship was over.
I do not know why Gülistan did not contact me for 15 days and then wanted to reconnect on January 4."
'I THOUGHT SHE WAS BEING HELD AGAINST HER WILL' Abarakov claimed he did not know whether Gülistan Doku witnessed any incident or was subjected to threats or blackmail, stating: "I do not know if Gülistan Doku witnessed anything or was threatened or blackmailed. I also do not know if she threatened anyone.
Since I had not heard from Gülistan for a long time, I thought she was being held somewhere against her will." Regarding the "help" mentioned in the phone messages, Abarakov said, "By rescue, I meant getting married and starting a life." Regarding allegations of rape and pregnancy, Abarakov denied having any knowledge.
"I do not know if Gülistan was raped or pregnant. She did not ask me for help on this matter, nor did she give the slightest hint about it. If she had, I would definitely have supported and helped her," he said.
REPEATED CALLS BEFORE DISAPPEARANCE According to phone records included in the investigation file, Gülistan Doku called and messaged Abarakov many times a day before her disappearance. Abarakov claimed he learned about her disappearance from friends and initially did not grasp the seriousness of the situation, stating he has no information about her fate.
As the investigation into Gülistan Doku's disappearance continues, the emergence of new statements and evidence in the file keeps the questions that the public has awaited answers to for years in the spotlight. (NEWS CENTER).
