The migrant crisis in Ceuta
Approximately 70,000 irregular migrants swam from the shores of Morocco’s Fnideq to Spain’s North African city of Ceuta on July 30 and 31.
Following an increase in irregular migration attempts toward Ceuta, the Spanish government decided to deploy the armed forces to the area to ensure security.
The number of irregular migrants who died while attempting to cross from Morocco to Spain was given as 88.
