Swimming was banned in the Istanbul districts of Beykoz, Sarıyer and Şile on Wednesday, September 9, and Thursday, September 10, due to high waves and strong winds.
Coasts, beaches and coves closed in Beykoz
The Beykoz District Governor's Office banned swimming at the coasts, beaches and coves along the Black Sea within the district because of high wave heights. The decision was taken under Law No. 5442 on Provincial Administration.
Kısırkaya Public Beach to remain closed in Sarıyer
According to the latest meteorological assessments in Sarıyer, wave heights were expected to be high. To protect public safety, Kısırkaya Public Beach was ordered closed to visitors on September 9 and 10.
Controlled areas introduced for two beaches in Şile
