Shared images from the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East Jerusalem have brought a new tension to the agenda. The images show some Israeli settlers entering the area under police protection and raising the Israeli flag. The shared footage also included the group singing the Israeli anthem in the courtyard. It was noted that the Israeli police did not intervene. Palestinians and social media users argued that these events violated the long-standing status of the holy site. Warnings were made that the incident could further increase religious and political tensions in the region. The development came after similar steps previously taken towards the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. Such demonstrations are considered to have once again challenged the sensitive balances in Jerusalem. At the same time, it was reported that a private school under construction in the village of Rammun east of Ramallah was also targeted by Israeli settlers. It was reported that doors were broken at the school, security cameras and generators were taken, and the damage was extensive. These consecutive incidents in the region indicate that tensions are escalating in the occupied territories.
