Alongside its housing projects, TOKİ continues to invest in strengthening education infrastructure. As part of work coordinated by the ministry, 1,505 schools with 31,782 classrooms have been built and put into service to date.
Investments in universities, dormitories and social facilities
As part of the work, 26 universities and 220 dormitories and boarding facilities with a capacity of 87,770 students were completed. In addition, 47 libraries and 999 sports halls were opened.
The total number of social facilities built by TOKİ, including education buildings, has reached 70,942.
Local architecture incorporated into school designs
The schools built under the 100 Percent Support Campaign, implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and relevant institutions, were designed by taking into account the local architectural features of the regions where they are located.
Under the program, 105 nursery schools with 404 classrooms, 935 primary schools with 20,693 classrooms and 465 high schools with 10,685 classrooms were built.
The education buildings were constructed with earthquake-resistant and modern architectural designs, with the aim of reducing the number of students per classroom. The buildings were also intended to help students receive education in settings with improved physical and technological facilities.
Projects addressing students' accommodation needs
TOKİ has implemented dormitory and boarding facility projects in different regions of Türkiye to meet the accommodation needs of students studying away from their home cities.
In the dormitories and boarding facilities serving higher education and secondary education students, earthquake safety and construction quality were taken into account alongside their educational and social needs.
University buildings have contributed to strengthening higher education infrastructure, while libraries were intended to facilitate students' access to information and sports halls to support their physical development.
