Trade Minister Ömer Bolat responded to a written parliamentary question from New Party Mersin MP Talat Dinçer concerning the high copyright fees demanded from small tradespeople and businesses.
Bolat said one of the prominent options for tradespeople and artisans seeking access to finance was Treasury-backed lending provided with the guarantee of the Credit and Guarantee Cooperatives for Tradespeople and Artisans, which fall under the jurisdiction of the Trade Ministry.
Financing in the first half of 2026
According to information provided by Bolat, financing exceeding 74.8 billion liras was provided to tradespeople and artisans across Türkiye through 98,678 disbursements in the first six months of 2026. The loans were extended under favorable repayment terms.
From 2002 through June 30, 2026, the total value of Treasury-backed loans provided to tradespeople and artisans reached 814.6 billion liras through 4,697,089 disbursements.
Statement on copyright regulations
Bolat said the copyright issue raised in the parliamentary question fell under the Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works and related secondary legislation within the jurisdiction of the Culture and Tourism Ministry.
Bolat said that, in addition to its routine work, the Trade Ministry continued efforts to offer solutions to problems faced by tradespeople and artisans in cooperation with other institutions and organizations. He added that developments in the sectors were being monitored in coordination with professional organizations.
