Trade Minister Ömer Bolat shared the latest data on the level reached by economic and trade relations between Türkiye and the United States at a program in New Jersey where he met with representatives of the Turkish and American business communities.
Bolat, who was continuing his contacts during the U.S. visit conducted under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as part of the 81st United Nations General Assembly, attended the Business Awards program organized by TABA-AmCham alongside Justice Minister Akın Gürlek and Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu.
Bolat said the United States was Türkiye’s third-largest export market and fourth-largest import market, adding that trade between the two countries reached $38.6 billion in 2025. He said bilateral trade had reached $28.4 billion in the January-August period of 2026.
Bolat emphasized that mutual investments also held an important place in the economic relations between Türkiye and the United States. He said investments by Turkish companies in the United States had reached $14.9 billion, while direct investments from the United States in Türkiye stood at $16.5 billion.

Bolat said more than 2,300 U.S.-capitalized companies were operating in Türkiye and noted that Turkish companies in the United States operated in many sectors, particularly technology, finance, food, services and manufacturing.
Bolat said that reaching the $100 billion trade volume target set by Türkiye and the United States would require developing not only trade in goods but also mutual investments, technology partnerships, entrepreneurship and cooperation in high-value-added production.
Bolat said the Ministry of Trade would continue strengthening the presence of Turkish companies in global markets. He added that the goal was to advance Türkiye-U.S. economic relations through higher trade volumes, more investment and new partnerships.
