Central government budget posts 12.852 billion lira surplus in August

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance announced the central government budget implementation results for August.

Budget revenues rose by 28.5 percent in August from the same month last year, reaching 1 trillion 654 billion 910 million lira. Budget expenditures increased by 37.8 percent to 1 trillion 642 billion 58 million lira.

As a result, the central government budget posted a surplus of 12 billion 852 million lira in August.

January-August period

Budget revenues rose by 36 percent in the January-August period from the same period last year, reaching 10 trillion 854 billion 652 million lira.

During the same period, budget expenditures increased by 36.8 percent to 12 trillion 162 billion 740 million lira. The central government budget posted a deficit of 1 trillion 308 billion 88 million lira in the first eight months of the year.
