U.S. President Donald Trump said he views positively the decision by Türkiye and Pakistan to send military forces to Saudi Arabia under the Mecca Alliance. Answering reporters’ questions at the White House before leaving for Texas, Trump responded to a question from CNN Türk: "Well, I think they want to help Saudi Arabia and I think that's good."
The question noted that Türkiye and Pakistan had agreed to send military forces to Saudi Arabia within the framework of the alliance and that the kingdom had just come under a new attack, asking Trump how he viewed the deployment of Turkish and Pakistani troops.

Decision taken at extraordinary Riyadh meeting
The Strategic Political and Defense Committee of the Mecca Agreement for Joint Defense between Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan met in an extraordinary session in Riyadh and decided to move immediately to implement collective defense commitments and to rapidly deploy the agreed military forces to Saudi Arabia. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Defense Minister Yaşar Güler attended the meeting.
The committee’s joint statement condemned the attempt to target Mecca and Medina as well as attacks on Saudi cities and civilian and economic facilities, stressing that the security of each party is an integral part of the collective security of the three countries. The extraordinary meeting followed attacks on Saudi Arabia by Yemen’s Houthis.

Agreement signed on Aug. 7
The Mecca Agreement was signed on Aug. 7 by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Ruling AK Party spokesman Ömer Çelik has said the agreement will be submitted to the Turkish parliament within a few days.
