Turkish ballerina Nilay Tahiroğlu passed the first stage and secured her place in the semifinals at the 15th International Ballet Competition held in Moscow.
The competition, which began on June 25 at the Bolshoi Theatre's Historic Stage and will run until July 5, features 362 dancers from 35 countries. State Opera and Ballet artist Tahiroğlu was exempted from the preliminary round due to her previous international successes and was directly admitted to the competition.
Tahiroğlu, who was among the 34 artists who completed the first stage of the three-phase event, will represent Turkey in the semifinals to be held on July 1.
