Turkish Red Crescent President Fatma Meriç Yılmaz said at warehouses belonging to the Egyptian Red Crescent in Egypt’s Al-Arish that humanitarian aid efforts for Gaza are continuing.
Yılmaz said the Turkish Red Crescent has carried out various efforts at different times since 2023 to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. She said they are closely monitoring the process of delivering aid sent from Türkiye to the region.
About 400 truckloads of aid are waiting in warehouses
Yılmaz said aid supplies equivalent to about 400 truckloads were sent to the region on a ship dispatched in the first week of the last Ramadan. After the aid was returned from border crossings for various reasons, the supplies were unloaded at warehouses in Al-Arish.
Yılmaz said about 15 trucks carrying aid sent from Türkiye can currently enter Gaza each day, adding, "The aid Türkiye sends from here is being quickly directed inside."
Yılmaz highlighted the importance of coordination by the Egyptian Red Crescent in delivering aid to the region and praised the work of volunteers.

Water and food support continues in Gaza
Yılmaz said delivering aid to Gaza is not the only channel of assistance and that the Turkish Red Crescent is continuing its activities through its staff in the region.
Yılmaz said food parcels are purchased from the region and distributed during periods when the entry of aid slows, adding that 100 tons of drinking water are delivered to people in need every day.
Yılmaz said psychosocial support efforts, particularly activities for children, are continuing. She added that a new project aimed at providing prostheses for people who have lost limbs has been launched and that health support is ongoing.
"We will not allow Gaza to be forgotten"
Yılmaz said the Turkish public remains highly sensitive to Gaza and that they will continue working to ensure that aid entrusted to the Turkish Red Crescent reaches people in need.
Yılmaz said they would work to ensure that Gaza is neither forgotten nor allowed to fade from memory, adding, "We are doing everything we can and will continue to do so."
Loss of life in Gaza
According to figures released by the Palestinian side, more than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 174,000 people injured in Israel’s attacks on Gaza, carried out with U.S. support, since October 8, 2023. The figures were said to highlight women and children among the victims as well as extensive destruction of infrastructure.
