Turkish Justice Minister Akın Gürlek said eight murders in seven unsolved cases, ranging from 3 to 39 years old, have been solved in Artvin, Yozgat, Diyarbakır, Eskişehir, Trabzon, Kilis and Kayseri using new testimony, technical examinations and phone records.

They include the 1987 disappearance of Nigar Bilgin in Artvin, whose remains were found after new witness statements, and the 2012 case of 2.5-year-old Yakup Bozkurt in Eskişehir, in which his father was arrested. A dedicated unit has so far solved cases involving 65 victims in 58 files.
