TÜBİTAK UZAY has completed the manufacturing, assembly and integration of Türkiye’s first lunar spacecraft, with 56 of its 65 critical subsystems developed domestically. The roughly 3.5-ton spacecraft will now undergo thermal vacuum, structural and EMC tests at Turkish Aerospace’s USET center before launching from Cape Canaveral in the first half of 2027.

It will reach lunar orbit in about two months, operate in a 100-km polar orbit for at least three months and end its mission with a controlled deorbit and hard landing on the Moon. If successful, Türkiye would become the ninth country to carry out a lunar mission.
