Türkiye's Consulate General in Frankfurt attended the 8th Education Fair organized by the Hessen Education Platform (Hessische Bildungsplattform).
In a statement on November 7, the consulate said the fair was organized to encourage young people to pursue careers and thanked everyone who contributed to the important event, especially Yadel Coşkun and the participating companies.
Photographs released by the consulate show speeches being delivered in a foyer with a red carpet, while schools, educational institutions and companies set up their stands. Banners bearing the Hessen Education Platform's logo were also displayed at the fair venue.

Eighth edition at Frankfurt UAS
The vocational training and university information fair, jointly organized by Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (Frankfurt UAS), founded in 1971, and the Hessen Education Platform, opened its doors on campus on November 7, according to the university's announcement. Held for the eighth time this year, the fair welcomed visitors from noon to 4 p.m. in the foyer of the university's Building 4.
According to the university's announcements for previous fairs, the event is aimed at students from all types of schools, young adults and their families. Visitors receive information about different educational pathways and Frankfurt UAS's dual programs, while numerous companies from the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main region introduce internship and vocational training (Ausbildung) opportunities.

From a voluntary initiative to a statewide platform
The Hessen Education Platform, formerly known as the Turkish-German Education Platform (Türkisch-Deutsche Bildungsplattform), was founded in 2016 as a voluntary initiative by teacher Yadel Oktay-Coşkun and five students. The platform aims to bring together education stakeholders across the state of Hessen.
Vocational training, known in Germany as “Ausbildung,” is based on a dual system that combines schooling with practical training in the workplace and generally lasts between two and three and a half years, depending on the occupation. Fairs where companies set up stands therefore offer students, including those of Turkish origin, and their families an important opportunity to learn more about internship and career options.
