Türkiye’s National Security Council met under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The meeting at the Presidential Complex began at 5:20 p.m.

The National Security Council meets every two months under Law No. 2945. A statement on the issues discussed at the meeting is expected to be released afterward.
A statement issued after the meeting said the council reviewed efforts against terrorist organizations, primarily the PKK, FETÖ and Daesh, and the progress made toward the goals of a “terror-free Türkiye and terror-free region.”
The statement said support for strengthening Syria’s unity and integrity would continue, adding that Israel was obstructing regional stability by violating Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and called on the international community to take concrete steps against Israel. It also said Israel was continuing its attacks in Gaza and Lebanon without fulfilling its commitments to peace.
The council said the war between the US and Israel and Iran had turned into a vicious circle increasing regional fragility and urged the parties to return to negotiations. It called for restraint and a ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine war over attacks targeting civilian infrastructure and shipping routes, warned that the escalation in Yemen was raising regional security risks, and stressed the importance of Iraq’s security and stability for the whole region.
