Capital Markets Board (SPK) Chairman Mahmut Sütcü was dismissed by Presidential Decision No. 2026/350, signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and published in Tuesday's Official Gazette. Sütcü announced on Monday that he was resigning for health reasons, but the decision made no reference to a resignation.

The same issue of the Official Gazette also announced the dismissal of İbrahim Ömer Gönül, president of the Public Oversight, Accounting and Auditing Standards Authority and a former SPK chairman. Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek had earlier authorized an investigation into Gönül.
Şinasi Candan appointed head of Revenue Administration

Kutluhan Taşkın, deputy head of the Presidency of Strategy and Budget, was appointed deputy treasury and finance minister, while Şinasi Candan, director general of the State Supply Office, was named president of the Revenue Administration. Kaan Kasım, Zekayi Çenge and Hüseyin Azili were appointed vice presidents of the Revenue Administration.
Sütcü had been promoted from second chairman to SPK chairman on May 9, 2026. His dismissal comes amid the process that began on Sept. 17, when the SPK placed 131 funds of seven portfolio management companies into liquidation. The decision did not name a new SPK chairman.
