Two workers fall into stone crushing pit at mine in Eskişehir
Two workers at a mine in Eskişehir's Sivrihisar district fell into a stone crushing pit from a silo. The workers were rescued conscious, taken to hospital, and reported to be in good condition.
An occupational accident occurred at a mine located in the rural Böğürtlen neighborhood of Sivrihisar district in Eskişehir.
Two workers at the mine, named Nihat E. (27) and Bekir A. (52), fell into a stone crushing pit from a silo.
Upon notification, gendarmerie, ambulance teams from the Eskişehir Provincial Health Directorate, and teams from the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department Directorate were dispatched to the scene.
As a result of the rescue operation conducted by the fire department teams, the two workers were extracted from the pit conscious and received first aid on site.
The workers were later taken to Eskişehir Yunus Emre State Hospital. Hospital officials reported that the workers' condition was good.
An investigation into the incident was launched and it was learned that necessary examinations were conducted.
