The AHBAP investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has entered a new phase. While the statements of journalists, artists and social media influencers were previously taken as part of the investigation, this time 5 famous figures have been summoned to the prosecutor's office to testify.
The names summoned to the prosecutor's office include journalist Uğur Dündar, artist Mahsun Kırmızıgül, singer Gülben Ergen, actress Elçin Sangu and singer Hayko Cepkin.
Uğur Dündar's posts included in the file
Journalist Uğur Dündar's posts supporting Haluk Levent on various dates have been included in the investigation. The file shows Dündar's post describing Haluk Levent as 'the leader of the AHBAP charity movement' and the statement 'Haluk Levent and Oğuzhan Uğur are our pride.' Also included is a post where Dündar shared and endorsed Haluk Levent in Gezi Research's 'most trusted names' survey.
Mahsun Kırmızıgül shared account numbers
The investigation file also includes donation calls made by Mahsun Kırmızıgül after the earthquake disaster. It was determined that Kırmızıgül shared the AHBAP Association's bank account details on his social media account and called on citizens to donate, and also posted about relief efforts delivered to the earthquake zone with the hashtag '#ahbap'.
Gülben Ergen's string of supportive posts
The file contains numerous posts by Gülben Ergen in support of Haluk Levent and the AHBAP Association. During the forest fires, Ergen called for donations with the words, 'We have done so much aid. I have never heard of such a thing. Haluk Levent is renting a helicopter for our country. I kiss your forehead. Donate to AHBAP,' and also shared a bank screenshot of her own donation.
Also added to the investigation file are posts from the earthquake period, in which she used phrases addressing Haluk Levent such as 'It's good that you exist,' 'Because your name is kindness,' 'It's good that you exist, AHBAP volunteers,' and 'We are with you, dear friend.'
Donation support from Elçin Sangu
It was determined that actress Elçin Sangu showed support by sharing a FAST receipt indicating that funds raised in a campaign organized by her fans were donated to the AHBAP Association, and also made a call for aid with a video sharing AHBAP's contact address for hygiene supplies.
Sangu also made posts defending the association and its volunteers in social media discussions following criticism of AHBAP. In her posts, she used the statement, 'Let's get angry at those who forget their duty and engage in commerce; being angry at the volunteers who are working tirelessly to collect aid there should not cause us to miss the part we need to question.'
Support for AHBAP and Haluk Levent from Hayko Cepkin
The investigation file also includes singer Hayko Cepkin's social media posts during the earthquake period, as well as posts about his collaboration with Haluk Levent on the song 'Ah Bir Ateş Ver.' In another post, Cepkin used the statement, 'I feel obliged to thank all AHBAP volunteers who organized quickly in difficult times and stepped forward for aid, their spokesperson Haluk Levent, Babala TV volunteers and Oğuzhan Uğur. I appreciate their efforts.'
