An extensive operation was conducted against some companies providing visa consultancy services as part of an investigation centered in Istanbul. Simultaneous operations were carried out at a total of 63 addresses in Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Balıkesir, Bursa and İzmir.
Financial examinations conducted as part of the investigation found money movements totaling approximately 2.841 billion liras in accounts belonging to the companies over the past two years. It was also alleged that a total of 918 million liras was collected from approximately 41,000 people.
It was alleged that some of the companies under investigation offered their customers a “visa guarantee” and collected substantial fees under the names of services such as “software” and “consultancy.”

The examinations are also investigating allegations that consulates’ and authorized institutions’ visa appointment systems were accessed through “bot” software and appointments were booked in bulk.
The companies’ financial transactions, digital materials and activities linked to visa appointment systems are being examined as part of the operation, while the investigation continues on multiple fronts.
