From Denizli to a global group
Born in 1944 in the Babadağ district of Denizli, Ahmet Nazif Zorlu began his career in textiles, his father's profession. He traded in home textiles at a store he opened in Trabzon during his youth and laid the foundations of Zorlu Holding by moving the company's headquarters to Istanbul in 1970. Zorlu founded his first manufacturing company, Korteks, in 1976 and brought all the companies together under the holding in 1990.
After acquiring Vestel in 1994, the group expanded beyond textiles into a wide range of sectors, from home appliances and electronics to real estate, energy, metallurgy, defense and e-mobility. In addition to brands such as Taç and Linens, Zorlu also developed Zorlu Center in Istanbul. Zorlu Holding is also among the founding partners of Türkiye's domestic carmaker, Togg.

Alongside his role at the holding, Zorlu chaired the boards of several companies within the group. He was a member of organizations including the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK), the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD), the Denizlililer Union Education and Culture Foundation (DENBİR), the Babadağlı Industrialists and Businesspeople Association (BASİAD) and the Turkish Home Textile Industrialists and Businesspeople Association (TETSİAD).
