Infantry Specialist Sergeant Oğuz Şahin dies after falling ill in Van's Çaldıran district
The Ministry of National Defense announced that Infantry Specialist Sergeant Oğuz Şahin was martyred after falling ill while serving in the area of responsibility of the Alparslan Border Post in Van's Çaldıran district. Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler offered condolences to the soldier's family.
Infantry Specialist Sergeant Oğuz Şahin, who was serving in Van's Çaldıran district, was martyred after falling ill in his area of responsibility.
In a condolence message issued by the Ministry of National Defense, the ministry said Specialist Sergeant Şahin fell ill in the area of responsibility of the Alparslan Border Post in Çaldıran, where he was serving, and died on November 2, 2026.
In his message, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler said, "On behalf of myself and the personnel of the Ministry of National Defense, I pray to God to have mercy on our heroic martyr; I offer my condolences and patience to his grieving family and our noble nation."
