The 16th Traditional Red Bull Formulaz Wooden Car Races, held in the Tunca town of Ardeşen district in Rize, were breathtaking. The event, organized in collaboration with the Formulaz Association and Red Bull, took place under the slogan "If Formula goes, Formulaz comes."
A total of 80 racers, 20 women and 60 men, participated in the races organized in two categories: women's and men's. The start of the races was given by the cracking sound of a thick whip-like rope being struck on the ground.
Competing with their wooden cars on the 1400-meter track, the racers were protected by hay bales placed at dangerous sections of the course against possible accidents. The drivers used equipment such as rubber shoes, wool socks, helmets, arm guards, and knee pads.
Signs placed along the track reading "Falling into the cliff is prohibited," "Starting point 300 meters behind," "Caution: wooden vehicle may exit," "No left turn," "Sharpest curve 50 meters behind," and "Last exit before the bridge" created colorful scenes.
In the races where dangerous moments occurred from time to time, some vehicles' wheels broke, while some racers tried to complete the course by running with their cars in their hands.

Over-45 Category Introduced for the First Time
Formulaz Association President Murat Gül stated that they created a separate category for racers over 45 for the first time this year. Gül said, "Along with this tradition, we will keep the spirit of production alive. We will pass on this race to future generations."
Gül reported that the track was extended this year and extra safety measures were taken, and said that 80 racers participated in the organization.

Halil İbrahim Dilsiz, who participated in the race for the first time, emphasized that the excitement was high, while 70-year-old Veli Bakır noted that the track was challenging and had many curves.
The event was attended by Rize Governor İhsan Selim Baydaş, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Colonel Adnan Çelebi, AK Party Rize Deputies Muhammed Avcı and Harun Mertoğlu, Ardeşen District Governor Ahmet Korkmaz, Ardeşen Mayor Enver Atagün, Tunca Mayor Ramazan Topçu, and many citizens.
