A naval parade was held in the Bosphorus as part of the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day events. 253 ships participated in the ceremony held to mark the 10th anniversary of the July 15, 2016 coup attempt.
The parade, organized in coordination with the Istanbul Governor's Office and the Marmara Sea and Straits Regional Command, included 253 vessels consisting of fishing boats, city line ferries, ships belonging to civil society organizations, and private boats. This number represented the 253 citizens who were martyred on the night of July 15.

The TCSG Güven ship, affiliated with the Marmara Sea and Straits Regional Command, led the parade. Immediately after, the Coast Guard Command's Nene Hatun Emergency Response Ship passed by and performed a water show.
The TCSG Güven and the accompanying boats greeted the citizens gathered at Ortaköy Pier with a traditional naval salute. Citizens on the shore, holding Turkish flags, watched the passage of the ship convoy with interest.
The event was also supported by the Istanbul Sea and Port Police, the Coast Guard Command, the Istanbul Regional Port Authority, the Istanbul Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, the Istanbul Health Directorate, and the General Directorate of Health for Borders and Coasts.
