A public opinion poll on the general elections planned for October 27 in Israel showed that anti-Netanyahu parties are ahead of Netanyahu’s coalition, although they would not secure a majority in the Knesset.

According to the poll, parties in the opposition bloc could send 54 lawmakers to the 120-seat Knesset. The number of seats held by parties in the coalition government led by Netanyahu is expected to fall to 50.
Neither bloc can reach 61 seats
Parties representing Palestinian citizens of Israel are projected to win 12 seats, while the Reservists Party, which belongs to neither bloc, is projected to win 4.

Under this distribution, neither Netanyahu’s coalition nor the opposition bloc can reach the 61 lawmakers required to form a government.
Eisenkot leads in preferences for prime minister
Forty-eight percent of respondents preferred Netanyahu’s rival, Gadi Eisenkot, for prime minister. The share of respondents who wanted Netanyahu to serve as prime minister stood at 40 percent.
