TEKNOFEST, held at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport, increased children's interest in technology and aviation. On the second day of the festival, children from Şanlıurfa and surrounding provinces had the opportunity to examine Turkish-developed technology products and vehicles from the aviation and defense industries up close.
The aviation, space and technology festival is being organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the T3 Foundation and STM Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc. (STM).
Children show strong interest
Turkish aviation vehicles displayed at the festival grounds were among the sections that attracted the most interest from children. Visitors had the opportunity to see the unmanned combat aircraft KIZILELMA, the national combat aircraft KAAN and the AKINCI attack unmanned aerial vehicle up close.
Amine Abdülvahap said she enjoyed TEKNOFEST very much and had seen aircraft from such a close distance for the first time. Saying that she found the festival grounds very impressive, Abdülvahap said she hoped to work in this field when she grew up.
Ebubekir Şelale also expressed his satisfaction that TEKNOFEST was being held in Şanlıurfa. Saying that he had seen the aircraft both on the ground and in the sky, Şelale said he was impressed by the air shows and that the vehicles displayed at the festival had further increased his interest in the field.
Elif Yıldırım said she toured the sections at the festival grounds with interest and that seeing the aircraft up close made her happy, thanking everyone who contributed to the organization.
Ali İlçi, a Şanlıurfa resident who visited the festival with his children, described his pride. “Türkiye used to produce nothing. The old era is over,” he said. “We brought the children on purpose so they would be aware and see what Türkiye has done.”
