Türkiye and Azerbaijan signed agreements covering joint production and the procurement of defense systems. The agreements and memorandums had a combined value of more than $500 million.
The agreements were signed during the 6th Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition, ADEX 2026, held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
Factory planned for Nakhchivan
The agreements include a preliminary protocol for establishing a factory in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. ASELSAN from Türkiye and Novasys MMC from Azerbaijan signed the protocol.

ASELSAN also signed a memorandum for the supply of its ALP 100 radar to Azerbaijan. The ceremony was held under the auspices of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense.
Baykar, Roketsan and TUSAŞ also sign agreements
Baykar signed two separate contracts to supply Azerbaijan with Mızrak loitering smart munitions and the Antidot electronic warfare system.

Contracts were also signed at the ceremonies for the supply of Roketsan’s Barbaros coastal defense system and 14 Hürkuş-2 aircraft produced by Turkish Aerospace Industries for Azerbaijan. Görgün said deliveries of the aircraft would begin rapidly this year.
Görgün: A long-term and sustainable model
Haluk Görgün, president of Türkiye’s Defense Industries, said defense industry cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan was based on a long-term and sustainable model.
Görgün said the model aims to accurately identify actual needs, use domestic resources, reduce dependence on foreign suppliers and ensure cost-effective production. He also said the aim was to prepare the infrastructure and human resources that would form the foundation for next-generation projects.
