On the night of June 6, Ariana Grande took the stage at Oakland Arena in California, delivering her first live concert since 2019. This performance also marked the opening of her 2026 "Eternal Sunshine" tour.
Grande had completed her last major tour in 2019 and had appeared on stage only sparingly since then, limited to some charity events, award ceremonies, and a performance on Saturday Night Live in 2024.
Which songs did she perform at the concert?
The artist opened the night with "Yes, And?" She then performed tracks including "Positions," "Dandelion," "The Boy Is Mine," and the tour’s title track "Eternal Sunshine."
The setlist featured songs from various phases of her career, including "Just Like Magic," "Thank U, Next," "7 Rings," "Imperfect for You," "Warm," "Safety Net," "One Last Time," "Rain on Me," "Break Free," "Twilight Zone," "Past Life," "Dangerous Woman," "Honeymoon Avenue," "Hampstead," "Into You," "Hate That I Made You Love Me," "We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)," and "Supernatural."
It was noted that no songs from Grande’s 2018 album "Sweetener" were included in the concert setlist. In the finale, she performed "Hate That I Made You Love Me," the only track from her upcoming album.
London is also on the tour route
The tour includes a major residency of 10 concerts at The O2 in London during August and September. This series stands out as one of the most notable stops in Grande’s return to the stage.
During the tour announcement, the artist mentioned this might be her last major outing. The 2021 album "Positions" also featured songs performed live for the first time on this tour.
New album on the way
Ariana Grande announced her eighth studio album "Petal" last month. She described the album as growing "from the cracks of something cold, hard, and challenging."
The new album will be released in various digital and physical formats. It follows the 2024 album "Eternal Sunshine" and its expanded edition "Brighter Days Ahead."
Last year, Grande reassured fans that she had not left music. She will also appear alongside Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro in the comedy sequel Focker-In-Law, and in summer 2027, she will perform with Jonathan Bailey in the London West End production of Sunday In The Park With George.
