According to Tasnim News Agency, close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a possible memorandum of understanding (MOU) being discussed between Iran and the US requires the release of $24 billion worth of frozen Iranian assets during the negotiations. The report states that Iran wants half of this amount to become accessible upon the announcement of the agreement, with the remaining part to be transferred within a 60-day negotiation period. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf's visit to Qatar focused on access to the first $12 billion and the removal of obstacles to the transfer. The source emphasized that the talks in Qatar were generally positive and progress was made in the negotiations, but the US is known as an unreliable party, and Iran therefore approaches the issues cautiously.
