Istanbul Airport is preparing to experience heavy traffic on the last day of the Eid al-Adha holiday. According to the statement from the airport operator İGA, a total of 1748 flights will be carried out on Sunday, May 31. On the same day, it is expected that more than 289 thousand passengers will travel from the airport. If these numbers are realized, Istanbul Airport will break its own records in terms of both daily flights and passenger numbers. Previously, the highest daily air traffic was recorded with 1707 flights on July 18, 2025, and the daily passenger records were set with 284,527 passengers on August 2, 2025. While the airport is experiencing increased congestion with the return movement of the holiday, it is reported that there are no disruptions in the flights.
