The Auto Theft Bureau of the Ankara Provincial Police Department’s Public Order Branch launched an investigation into car thefts in the capital.
Tracking a vehicle stolen overnight, teams examined footage from around 35 different security cameras and determined it was taken to a workshop in an industrial estate.
Police raided the identified address and caught 4 suspects red-handed as they were dismantling the stolen car. A search of the premises uncovered 2 additional cars confirmed to have been stolen on different dates.
Investigations revealed the stolen vehicles were taken apart on the premises into spare parts, with the dismantled components kept ready for sale. The 3 stolen cars were secured for return to their owners, and numerous car parts and criminal materials were seized.
The 4 suspects taken into custody were referred to court following their processing at the police station.
