Cable explosion at Ihlamurkuyu disrupts Üsküdar-Sultanbeyli Metro services
A cable explosion occurred at Ihlamurkuyu Station on the M5 Üsküdar-Sultanbeyli Metro Line, sending smoke through the station. Services were temporarily suspended and passengers evacuated, while some stations on the line became crowded.
A cable explosion occurred in the metro area at Ihlamurkuyu Station on the M5 Üsküdar-Sultanbeyli Metro Line. Smoke from the explosion spread through the station.
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene, and metro services were suspended. Passengers waiting for the metro at the station were evacuated by staff.
The disruption also caused crowding at some stations on the line.
Metro Istanbul announced that, due to the technical malfunction, services were operating between Üsküdar and Çakmak stations and between İmam Hatip Lisesi and Sultanbeyli stations.
