Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz shared the latest data on Türkiye’s economy at the opening of the Istanbul Trade Congress. Yılmaz said Türkiye’s economy grew by 2.3% in the second quarter of 2026, extending its uninterrupted growth streak to 24 quarters.
Noting that the global economy is going through a period of rising geopolitical risks and uncertainties, Yılmaz said Türkiye continued to demonstrate resilience in the face of global conditions through its production capacity and export strength.

Yılmaz said Türkiye’s gross domestic product rose to $1.6 trillion in 2025, while annualized national income exceeded $1.7 trillion as of the first half of 2026.
Yılmaz said goods exports rose from $36 billion in 2002 to $273.2 billion in 2025, adding that annualized goods exports had surpassed $280 billion as of August 2026.

Expectation of $405 billion in exports
Yılmaz said Türkiye’s services exports rose from $14 billion in 2002 to $125 billion in 2025, adding that Türkiye ranked 22nd among the countries with the highest services exports.
Yılmaz said Türkiye ranked sixth in the world in this area, with a $63 billion surplus in services trade. Noting that total goods and services exports approached $400 billion in 2025, Yılmaz said total exports were expected to exceed $405 billion in 2026.
