Court blocks access to Engin Polat's Instagram account
A Peace Criminal Court ordered a block on access to Engin Polat's Instagram account upon the request of the Ministry of Family and Social Services. The decision was taken on the grounds of preventing crime and maintaining public order.
Ankara 3rd Peace Criminal Court ordered the blocking of access to the Instagram account @enginpolat upon the application of the Ministry of Family and Social Services. In the court decision dated July 28, 2026, it was stated that the request was accepted following an evaluation under Article 8/A of Law No. 5651 on the Regulation of Publications on the Internet and Combating Crimes Committed by Means of Such Publications. In the armed attack that took place on June 3 in Alaçatı, part of the Çeşme district of İzmir, Engin Polat's cousin and the family's close bodyguard Can Polat lost his life.
