Woman kills business owner at Yalova real estate office then commits suicide
In Yalova, a woman walked into a real estate office, fatally shot the owner, and then turned the gun on herself. Police and medical teams arriving at the scene confirmed both had died.
At Yerlitürk Gayrimenkul on Çimen Street in Yalova's Siteler neighborhood, 49-year-old Gül Nihal Akçal entered the business and shot 40-year-old owner Enes Vasfi Yerlikaya with a handgun. She then killed herself with the same weapon.
After bystanders who heard the gunshots reported the incident, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Paramedics conducted checks and confirmed that both Akçal and Yerlikaya had died.
Police cordoned off the real estate office and launched an investigation. Following the crime scene examination, the bodies were taken to the morgue at Yalova Training and Research Hospital for autopsy.
Police have launched a broad investigation into the motive behind the incident.
