The cancellation of the Republican People's Party's (CHP) 38th Ordinary Congress with the decision of 'absolute nullity' and the judicial obstacle imposed on the position of the party chairman increased tension within the party. Özgür Özel announced that they will initiate an effective struggle both legally and on the ground against Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's administration. Özel stated that a group hiding behind judicial decisions has locked the party and sees themselves as a president during the state of emergency period. Özel, noting that the process stalled during his meetings with Kılıçdaroğlu, said he proposed withdrawing the applications at the Court of Cassation for the immediate convening of the congress, but Kılıçdaroğlu blocked the process by saying 'I am not a lawyer, let me ask the lawyers.' In response to the cancellation of the Party Assembly (PM) meeting, Özel stated that they can convene the PM and that only 12 members' signatures are sufficient for this. Özel announced that they will hold a large group meeting on Tuesday, explaining that by physical struggle he means continuing to exist on the streets and in the field, and that they will not bow to obstacles. Özel emphasized that the delegates of the 38th Congress remain valid and that at the end of this process, the ballot box will be placed before the party.
