From July 1, 2026, the depreciation process following an accident in compulsory traffic insurance will operate automatically. In the new system, an expert will examine the vehicle damage and calculate the depreciation, then record it in the system.
The insurance company will notify the payment process information via e-Government portal, SMS, or mobile application. This aims to make the processing of depreciation claims more orderly and faster.
With the regulation, the use of original parts will be mandatory for parts that cannot be repaired. If the insurance company wishes to use equivalent parts, it must prove that these parts are as high-quality and safe as the original ones.
This implementation means stricter monitoring of standards in damage and part replacement processes within traffic insurance. In particular, decisions regarding depreciation calculations and part preferences are expected to be conducted within a clearer and more structured process.
