Saudi Arabia announced that despite tensions in the Middle East, there has been an increase in the number of pilgrims this year. According to officials in the country, more than 1.5 million foreign pilgrims entered Saudi Arabia. This number has surpassed last year's international pilgrim count. After the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran in February, conflicts in the region caused disruptions in air traffic and increased travel costs. However, major airlines from Gulf countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Bahrain quickly restored their operational capacities following airspace closures. Saudi officials stated that the arrival of pilgrims is expected to increase in the coming days. Hajj, as one of the five pillars of Islam, is considered an important ritual that every Muslim who is able must perform at least once in their lifetime.
