Mert Danişger, the Türkiye representative of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, said investors from Dubai were closely monitoring logistics services and port operations in Türkiye. In an assessment in Istanbul on Wednesday, Danişger said port operations and logistics infrastructure were among the investors’ leading areas of interest.
A new logistics route between the Gulf and Türkiye
Danişger said developing road and rail links between Türkiye and the Gulf countries could make a significant contribution to the growth of regional trade. He noted that Türkiye occupies an important position in establishing a logistics connection between the Gulf region and the European continent.

Danişger said rail investments could play an important role in developing trade between Türkiye and the Gulf countries, adding that projects connecting the Gulf to Türkiye by rail could create a new logistics route. He said these projects could ease pressure on road transport and make freight transport between the Gulf and Europe faster and safer through Türkiye.
Areas of interest for Dubai investors
Danişger said Türkiye’s geographic location offers the Gulf countries a significant advantage in accessing European markets. He said developing transport infrastructure would strengthen these opportunities.
Danişger said investors from Dubai were particularly interested in Türkiye’s logistics services sector, adding that construction, food and healthcare, along with port operations and logistics infrastructure, had also attracted investors’ attention.

Transport diversity could strengthen trade links
Noting that air links between Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates were strong, Danişger said using different modes of transport would support trade, investment and communication between the business communities of the two countries.
Economic and trade relations between Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates have expanded in recent years, while mutual investments and cooperation have also increased in various areas, particularly transport, logistics services, energy and finance. Following the entry into force of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two countries in 2023, efforts to facilitate trade in goods and services, increase trade volume and diversify investments gained momentum.
