Emine Erdoğan, the wife of Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, called for the needs of children living in conflict zones to remain at the center of the international agenda at the World Summit on Investing in Children’s Well-Being in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
“As representatives of more than 100 countries, we are here to provide all children around the world with fair and equal opportunities,” Emine Erdoğan said. “Let us raise our voices for the plight of children in war zones who cannot even imagine a future.”

Erdoğan said access to food, shelter, security, education and healthcare remains fundamental, adding that climate change, armed conflicts, forced migration and digital threats must also be taken into account when assessing children’s well-being.
Recalling that more than 21,000 children have been killed in Gaza over the past three years and more than 10,000 have been left permanently disabled, Erdoğan stressed that 700,000 students had been deprived of their right to education. She thanked Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, the wife of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who hosted the summit.
Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş and Dr. Esra Albayrak, chair of the Board of Trustees of the NUN Education and Culture Foundation, also attended the summit.
