President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Türkiye’s annual exports had risen from approximately $36 billion in 2002 to $284 billion today.
Erdoğan made the remarks at a meeting held in Ankara with lawmakers from the Justice and Development Party on the occasion of the opening of the fifth legislative year of the 28th term of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye. He expressed his hope that the meeting would bring benefit to the country, the nation, the party and democracy.
Erdoğan announces export figures
Referring in his speech to foreign trade data announced by the Turkish Exporters Assembly on October 3, Erdoğan said September exports had increased by 15.4 percent compared with the same month last year, reaching $26 billion.
Erdoğan said Türkiye’s exports in the first nine months of the year had reached $211 billion after rising by 5.2 percent, and that exports over the last 12 months stood at $283.7 billion. He added that the annual total of goods and services exports had approached $410 billion.

Erdoğan said Türkiye had reached new records despite conflicts in the region and the global economic slowdown. He said they were proud that exports had risen from the $36 billion level recorded in 2002 to $284 billion today.
Erdoğan also said the targets set for 2026 would be reached provided there were no major obstacles.
Summer activities showcased
A video featuring Erdoğan’s activities during the summer was also shown at the meeting. The video included footage from the 36th NATO Summit in Ankara, the 81st United Nations General Assembly, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit and the joint defense agreement in Mecca.
The presentation also featured footage from the anniversary of the July 15 coup attempt, the opening of the fourth runway at Istanbul Airport and events held as part of Teknofest Southeast Türkiye.
