Eskişehir prosecutors lead an illegal betting operation targeting 119 suspects in 33 provinces
Under the coordination of the Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, simultaneous operations targeting 119 suspects were conducted in 33 provinces. The suspects were found to have enabled online illegal betting and gambling websites to operate and facilitated money transfers by obtaining bank accounts and GSM lines from third parties.
Under the coordination of the Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, simultaneous illegal betting operations targeting 119 suspects were conducted in 33 provinces.
The operation was carried out as part of planned work by teams from the Eskişehir Police Department’s Cybercrime Unit, with support from the Cybercrime Department of the General Directorate of Security.
Raids conducted at identified addresses in 33 provinces
Simultaneous raids were carried out at identified addresses in Adana, Ağrı, Antalya, Aydın, Balıkesir, Batman, Bilecik, Bursa, Diyarbakır, Düzce, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Giresun, Hakkari, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Kütahya, Malatya, Manisa, Mardin, Mersin, Muğla, Sakarya, Samsun, Sinop, Şanlıurfa, Tekirdağ, Tokat, Trabzon and Van.
Charges against the suspects
The suspects were found to have enabled online illegal betting and gambling websites to operate across the country in an organized manner.
The suspects were also found to have obtained bank accounts and GSM lines from third parties and facilitated money transfers.
