Minister Göktaş announced that 2.076 billion liras was paid this month to 18,334 young people under the Family and Youth Fund. Göktaş said the fund was established to strengthen the institution of the family and protect young people against social risks.
Göktaş said the fund, financed by revenues from Türkiye’s underground resources, invests in the future of young people, adding that the project is being implemented in all 81 provinces. Young people can apply through the relevant website or e-Government.
Loan amounts determined according to age groups
Göktaş said the loan amounts were updated in January so that more young couples could benefit from the fund. Couples in which both partners are aged 18 to 25 receive 250,000 liras in support, while couples in which both partners are aged 26 to 29 receive 200,000 liras.
Approved loans are provided with a 48-month term and a two-year grace period. The income requirement for the previous six months, which is taken into account in applications, was also increased from 2.3 times the minimum wage to 2.5 times the minimum wage.
Repayment support for couples who have children
Under the fund, for young couples who have a child within 48 months, repayments for the first child are subsidized for 12 months, while repayment of the remaining debt is deferred for 12 months. With the deferral period, the loan term is extended to 60 months.
If a second child is born during this period, the remaining debt is fully subsidized. To date, 20,162 couples with one child have benefited from the 12-month installment subsidy and the right to a 12-month deferral. The remaining debt of 409 couples with two or more children was fully subsidized.
A total of 20,988 children have been born to the 20,571 couples supported under the fund.
Applications reach 308,767
Applications to the Family and Youth Fund have reached 308,767. Through the fund, 222,988 young people planning to marry have received a total of 21.048 billion liras in zero-interest loan support.
In addition to financial support, 260,234 young people have been reached to date through education and counseling services. The fund began operating in pilot provinces in 2024 and was expanded across Türkiye in 2025.
