Fidan meets Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Istanbul
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, who was in Istanbul for the 9th Istanbul Mediation Conference.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Istanbul. The meeting took place on the occasion of the 9th Istanbul Mediation Conference, held on October 23-24. The Foreign Ministry announced the meeting.
Four-way cooperation in defense
The meeting came at a time when Türkiye and Pakistan are deepening their cooperation in the defense sector. The defense ministries of Türkiye, Qatar, Indonesia and Pakistan signed the Badr Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding in Doha, the capital of Qatar, on October 21, aimed at joint efforts in military production, the development of defense capabilities, technical military training, and research and development.
In his address at the opening of the conference, Fidan highlighted the principles of dialogue, continuity and regional ownership in mediation, and cited the Mecca Defense Alliance as an example of regional ownership.
