Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan answered journalists’ questions on Türkiye–Azerbaijan relations in Baku, where he was attending the 7th CICA Summit.
"The principle of two states, one nation manifests itself in every field. There is an unshakable bond of friendship and brotherhood between our leaders," Fidan said. "At times there may be different approaches on certain issues. We must not allow these to wear down the strategic relations between the two countries."
"We must avoid attitudes that erode this"
"The unbreakable bonds and brotherly relations between the two countries are important. We need to avoid attitudes that would erode this," Fidan said.
"We are ancient nations; we sit down and talk"

"We are ancient nations. We sit down and discuss our own problems in a way befitting this ancient past," Fidan said, adding there was no need for such issues to be turned into a propaganda tool on social networks. He said his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev was held in this spirit and that the unshakable bond between the two leaders would continue in the strongest way.
Fidan’s remarks come amid debate and protests in Türkiye over Azerbaijan’s ban on headscarves in schools.
