In a fight between shopkeepers and passing citizens in Efeler district of Aydın, 5 people including a police officer were injured. The incident occurred around 19:00 on Hakkı Bey Street in Osman Yozgatlı Neighborhood.
A discussion that started for an unknown reason between the shopkeepers on the street and passing citizens quickly escalated into a fight. Police teams were dispatched to the area upon the notification of bystanders.
During the intervention, the teams used pepper spray to separate the parties. During the scuffle, 4 people were injured due to beating, and police officer İ. A. was injured with a knife on his hand.
The injured were taken to the hospital by ambulances after first aid at the scene. The moments of the fight were also recorded by a mobile phone camera.
The footage showed the parties attacking each other with kicks and punches, while police teams were seen trying to end the fight.
An investigation has been launched regarding the incident.
