Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan attended a meeting held in New York as part of the 81st United Nations General Assembly to discuss the New York Declaration and the 20-point comprehensive peace plan for Gaza.
The meeting, titled "Moving Forward: One Year After the New York Declaration and the 20-Point Comprehensive Peace Plan," brought efforts to find a solution to the Palestinian issue to the agenda.
The New York Declaration and the two-state solution
The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution supporting the New York Declaration last September. The declaration aims to secure recognition of a Palestinian state and a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The aim of the 20-point plan
U.S. President Donald Trump announced the 20-point plan in the same month. The plan aims to end the war in Gaza and establish long-term peace.
