Former Iraqi Ministry of Defense advisor Maen al-Jubouri said that the second alleged Israeli base discovered in Iraq was less surprising than the first. Al-Jubouri stated that Iraq's military geography allows both Israel and the US to operate freely. The advisor emphasized that these bases operate under American protection and that the equipment and weapons used are clearly of American origin. Al-Jubouri expressed that US military operations in Iraq are authorized as special missions in coordination with senior Iraqi officials, and therefore all security and military institutions do not fully know what is happening. He said that US-Iraq agreements allow soldiers from other nations to serve in Iraq within the framework of the international coalition, but Israel is not included in this scope and it is not possible for Israel to establish a base in Iraq. Al-Jubouri noted that American protection provides significant camouflage in the region and misleads the Iraqi side into thinking these movements are US operations linked to the US-Israel and Iran conflict. He also stated that Iraq's lack of advanced surveillance capabilities contributed to the failure to detect these movements. He added that this situation is shameful for the Iraqi government, armed forces, security institutions, and diplomacy.
