Gümrükçü discusses Turkish community with North Macedonia–Türkiye friendship group chair Salih Murat
Deputy Foreign Minister and Ambassador Levent Gümrükçü received Salih Murat, chair of the Interparliamentary Friendship Group with Türkiye in the Assembly of North Macedonia. The meeting addressed bilateral relations, the situation of the Turkish community in North Macedonia and regional issues.
Deputy Foreign Minister and Ambassador Levent Gümrükçü met with Salih Murat, chair of the Interparliamentary Friendship Group responsible for cooperation with Türkiye in the Assembly of North Macedonia.
The Foreign Ministry said the meeting addressed bilateral relations between Türkiye and North Macedonia, the situation of the Turkish community living in North Macedonia and regional developments.
North Macedonia is home to a significant Turkish community, and Turkish is used as an official language in some of the country's municipalities. Salih Murat chairs the friendship group in the Assembly that conducts contacts between the parliaments of the two countries.
